You feel guilty, exhausted, and overwhelmed.

One moment, you’re thrilled to be a mom; the next, you’re drowning in sadness.

You don’t feel like yourself and crave time alone. But the fear of being seen as a “bad mom” holds you back.

The things you once enjoyed no longer interest you, and you often find yourself crying for “no reason.”

You have this constant dread; no matter what you do, you can’t shake the feeling of incompetence and isolation.

You may have thought things like:

  • “I’m losing myself in this motherhood thing.”

  • “I should be able to handle this; everyone else does.”

  • “I’m failing because I don’t feel instantly bonded with my baby.”

This huge life shift shakes us to our core. So many new moms feel the same way, even if they seem to have it all together.

Left unaddressed, these feelings don’t just disappear—they keep affecting you and your family.

But the truth is you’re not alone, and you’re not broken.

There is hope, and change is possible.

These feelings, while overwhelming, don’t define you, and they don’t have to stay with you forever.

Why Do Women Experience Perinatal and Postpartum Challenges?

Pregnancy and the postpartum period bring about intense shifts—physically, emotionally, and mentally.

With that shift, you feel disconnected, from yourself, your newborn and everyone else.

You’ve just undergone a major transition! Your hormones have changed so drastically that it’s very common to feel anxious or sad

Postpartum Counseling Can Truly Help

Therapy offers a judgment-free zone to share your thoughts and feelings, no matter how unsavory they might seem.

Therapy helps you reconnect with yourself. We let go of trying to achieve a certain feeling of being a “parent”, and just be you.

But not trying to force any emotion, it allows you to just be you, be comfortable with yourself.

And with that comes a deeper connection with your child.

Think of it as rebuilding a bridge to yourself, where you can rediscover your interests, voice, and even moments of joy without guilt.

Life After Therapy Can Feel Connected

Imagine feeling lighter, more connected to your baby, and more like yourself again.

Our clients feel relief, describing it as finally back in control. They talk about:

  • Truly seen, supported, and capable

  • A steady inner calm that makes daily ups and downs manageable

  • More joy, intimacy, and self-compassion in their lives

  • Renewed confidence as both moms and individuals

Rates & FAQ

  • We are in network with

    • Aetna

    • Anthem/Blue Cross Blue Shield

    • Cigna

    • Colorado Medicaid

  • If your insurance is not listed, then you may still be able to use your insurance for therapy with us,  if your insurance plan has “Out-Of-Network” benefits. The way that would work is, you would pay for therapy at the time of the session, and then we will provide you with a “superbill” that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

We would recommend calling your insurance company to confirm if your insurance policy has OON benefits for mental health services.

In addition, you can choose to work with us privately and not use insurance. In that case our rates are $100-$130 per session depending on the clinician you work with.

  • Yes we offer online therapy for all residents in Colorado!

We also have an office in Woodland park if you would like to visit for in-person sessions.

  • Your first session will be a little bit of a “get to know each other” session. Your clinician will ask you more questions than normal, and you will be encouraged to ask any questions you have as well. We understand that talking about personal things can be challenging, so we want you to be as open as you are comfortable at that time. You should not feel pressured or pushed to discuss anything. Our hope is that therapy becomes a place you feel comfortable and look forward to.

  • We love working with people who recognize they are not living their life quite the way they want to, and are ready to make some changes!

  • Great question. There is no one-size-fits-all to therapy. Some clients come to us with a very specific issue that they feel they have worked through in a few sessions. Others want to dive deeper into learning about themselves and how they view the world, which can take longer. We never tell someone how long they have to commit to therapy, but we do recommend that you be willing to give therapy 4-6 sessions.
